Dawn will be speaking on Chilkat, Ravenstail and Taniko twining techniques and influences on my work.

Like many of us, Dawn began exploring the fiber arts at a young age. Her passion for learning and fiber arts has driven her to explore many areas of the medium and Dawn’s years as a hairstylist contribute to her deep understand of fiber and color. Dawn received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and drawing from University of Central Florida and Master of Fine Arts degree in painting from Montana State University. Dawn earned The Handweavers Guild of America’s Certificate of Excellence for Level 1: Technical Skills in Handweaving in 2020, and Level 2: Master Weaver in 2022. She has also received the HGA’s Award that honors outstanding exhibited works of fiber art and first place in HGA’s Wearable Art Exhibition in 2024. Dawn is member of the Southwest Montana Fiber Arts Guild, the Helena Spinners and Weavers Guild and the current president of the Montana Association of Weavers and Spinners (MAWS). PATTY HUFFER
Summer and Winter
Patty Huffer has been weaving since 1981. After graduating from Central Washington University, she took a summer weaving class. This began her almost 40 years of weaving and teaching others to weave and spin. The love of fibers and teaching others has been a life-long inspiration for her. There are new ideas coming from students and other weavers all the time. She always looks forward to the moment when each student understands for the first time how a woven piece is constructed resulting in a beautiful finished product. She has taught at Eugene Textiles, ANWG conferences and Madeline van der Hoogt's Weavers' School.
We look forward to this program and her in person workshop coming in October 2026.
